This is the latest offering from Aurzen—the Aurzen EAZZE Series D1 Projector. This model stands out with its 1080p resolution, Netflix and Prime Video certification, autofocus, and auto keystone correction. It’s a medium-sized projector that promises quality and affordability. So, let’s get right into it!
Unboxing the Aurzen EAZZE Series D1 Projector
Right out of the box, you can tell this projector is well-made. Aurzen has paid attention to every detail, from the design to the packaging. The projector feels solid, and the aesthetics are top-notch.
As I unboxed it, I found all the essentials neatly packed inside. You get an infrared remote, an HDMI cable, a 21V 2.85A DC power adapter, a cleaning kit for the projector lens, a user manual, and a warranty card.
This is their latest D1 model, and I was excited to see how it would perform.
Design and Build Quality
The Aurzen EAZZE Series D1 Projector sports a sleek design with a plexiglass-covered front. Behind this plexiglass lies the autofocus and auto keystone camera, an IR sensor, and a triple glass-coated lens with a silicone lens cover.
The right side houses the HDMI input, two USB ports, an AV port, a headphone jack, the DC power socket, an internal speaker, and an exhaust vent. The left side features a second internal speaker, ensuring balanced audio output.
At the rear, you’ll find a rear-facing IR sensor and dual intake vents with removable dust filters.
The top of the projector has touch button manual controls and an LED power indicator. The base includes four anti-skid rubber feet, a screw-type kickstand, and a single screw mounting hole for mounting on a tripod or ceiling.
Setting Up the Aurzen EAZZE Series D1 Projector
For testing, I set up the projector on a stand 8 feet (2.1 meters) away, which produced a 77-inch display. I used a high-contrast ALR projector screen, but you can use any projector screen you prefer.
If you want to enhance your display by up to 50%, consider getting your hands on special ALR projector fabric.
Upon the first startup, the projector greeted me with a startup wizard. It was followed by an autofocus calibration, and then I had full control of the launcher.
The Aurzen EAZZE Series D1 Launcher
The launcher layout is user-friendly, with shortcuts for Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, Plex, an APK app store, an open browser, and a couple of live streaming apps.
Once connected to the internet, the launcher populates with trending content from Netflix and Prime Video. However, it’s worth noting that you cannot sideload apps like Disney Plus or Max, as they are not included in the app store.
Performance and Picture Quality
Now, let’s talk about the performance. The Aurzen EAZZE Series D1 Projector boasts a native 1920 by 1080p resolution with 200 ANSI lumens of brightness. In terms of brightness, it’s bright enough for home theaters and outdoor usage in dark environments. However, it might struggle in brightly lit rooms or during daytime usage.
The focus distribution is impressive, with sharp edges and no noticeable blurring. The color gamut is vibrant, producing deep blues, reds, and greens.
The maximum display size you can achieve before losing clarity is around 150 inches, which is quite decent for a medium-sized projector.
Settings and Customization
The settings menu offers a range of customization options. You can change the language, date, and time format, set a screensaver, enable or disable auto sleep, and update the firmware via USB or over the internet.
In the picture mode, you can adjust brightness, color, and color temperature when set to custom.
For audio, you can select different sound styles, choose between Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus formats, and enable dialogue enhancement. The projector also features Bluetooth connectivity for pairing with speakers, headsets, and AV receivers.
However, I couldn’t connect any Bluetooth remotes or gamepads.
The projector supports dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity, auto keystone correction, four-point corner keystone adjustment, and 50% digital zoom. Autofocus options are also available, along with information on the firmware version and Netflix ESN license.
Audio and Video Capabilities
One of the standout features of the Aurzen EAZZE Series D1 Projector is its ability to play Dolby Audio, specifically Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital Plus. However, it cannot process Dolby Surround or Dolby TrueHD. The internal video processing is limited to HD 1080p HDR videos, as it cannot handle 4K content.
The projector also comes with simple image looping software, allowing you to adjust the size of photos, the speed of transitions, and the playback mode—whether in a loop, at random, or from start to finish.
With the built-in Netflix and Prime Video apps, you can watch your favorite shows and movies in HD 1080p resolution with HDR and 5.1 surround audio. There’s also a Miracast feature for screen casting, and the option to use the projector as a Bluetooth speaker.
Gaming and External Device Compatibility
For gamers, the Aurzen EAZZE Series D1 Projector delivers a solid experience when connected to a Windows gaming PC. The display quality and brightness are impressive, even for a medium-sized projector with only 200 ANSI lumens.
The focus distribution remains sharp, making it one of the best budget projectors for gaming in 2024.
You can also connect your mobile phone to the projector and use its internal speakers as Bluetooth speakers. However, as demonstrated, the internal speakers lack deep bass.
In reverse, you can pair the projector with Bluetooth speakers, headphones, and AV receivers for an enhanced audio experience.
Noise Level and Final Thoughts
In terms of noise, the projector generates around 42dB from a distance of 1 meter, which is normal for a medium-sized projector.
Overall, the Aurzen EAZZE Series D1 Projector is a great choice for those looking for an affordable, yet feature-packed projector. It delivers excellent display quality, has Netflix and Prime Video certification, and offers HD 1080p video with Dolby Audio.
The autofocus and auto keystone features add to its appeal, making it a solid option for home theaters and outdoor movie nights.
