Ugoos AM7 Amlogic S905X4 TV Box Review

The latest Ugoos AM7 Amlogic S905X4 TV Box, running on Android 11 is another masterpiece TV Box by Ugoos that’s a testament as to why I gave them the title of the best manufacturer of TV boxes from 2020 to date. People really appreciate when someone takes pride in their work, and goes the extra step to one WOW their customers.  Ugoos is going above and beyond what the average TV Box manufacturer would provide all of the Chinese market.

Earlier this year we saw the competition try to capture market share by releasing their latest Rockchip hardware on the latest Android 11. Unfortunately, those attempts was marred with lots of firmware bugs, missing essential features, and disappointed fans and enthusiast. There were lots of potential in their attempt as the hardware could have handled it, but unfortunately they either lacked the expertise or due diligence was not observed during the compilation of their firmware.

On the other hand, Ugoos continues to charge ahead in their efforts to maintain market share by delivering the best, feature-rich Android boxes on the market. In this AM7 model is their version of Android 11 carefully crafted to deliver performance, a great user experience, and though they encountered a few bugs they provide firmware updates to resolve these issues. Something that’s nonexistent in most Android boxes to date.

Ugoos AM7 Pros and Cons

Final Thoughts

The Ugoos AM7 I would say is the best Amlogic S905X4 release to date, something we have grown accustomed to from the Ugoos developers. They continue to deliver the most prominent features and the highest quality and we in the industry. However the efforts did not go without little bumps in the road. I did experience a few issues that I am confident the will iron out in a little update. For instance there is an issue with the optical audio output when you try to use it cut’s off. The official version of Miracast when you try to use it disconnecting Wi-Fi. And there is an issue in the audio decoders that is preventing the VLC player and the MX player from producing DTS X, and HD master audio.  Kodi on the other hand please these formats successfully. I recognize that they did not include any Samba server settings in this model something that can be added in a later update, and we continue to be limited to only 32 bit ABIs. Something the project developers delivered in their model but couldn’t successfully navigate the rest of the essential features. So the question is will I recommend this box as a good box to buy? My answer is a resounding yes, as it is still the best S905X4 model on Android 11 to date.
