H96 Max 3566 TV Box Review

So this is an unusual specimen of a TV box, the new H96 Max 3566 TV box showcases RockChip’s new line of boxes. Today RockChip has released the first 8GB RAM TV box running on Android 11 operating system. This TV box is the design differently to effectively prevent overheating and keep temperatures within the 70°C range which is a good news for the longevity of the box. They have also used the Mali G52 seen in S922X models to power their display, and it also has Vulcan support.

In my review I discovered that the firmware is a far from complete, hence I have already completed three firmware updates and there are still issues to be resolved. One of the major issues is that 4K display is only being recognized by certain TVs. They have also not yet implemented root access and there are some minor bugs that needs addressing.

Closing Thoughts

I know many of you will have your opinions about this box, but after applying its hardware in various applications besides just the incomplete Android firmware, I came to the conclusion that this is actually good hardware that needs a good firmware. Which means soon enough someone will create a updated firmware, or a custom ROM that will unlock the full potential of this hardware.
