2021 A95X Max II Amlogic S905X3 SATA Storage TV Box

A95X Max II TV Box Review

For 2021 A95X has hit the ground running the release of their latest model called the A95X Max II which is the second release to the A95X Max model released in 2018. What’s different about this one is that it’s running on the Amlogic S905X3 CPU while at its previous model ran on the Amlogic S905X3. Most of the features of the previous model running on android nine pie operating system. It has the same SATA storage expansion up to 2 TB and the same housing design. I started this review very excited with high expectations hoping that it would have been much better than his previous model however it is better in some ways but similar in most. It’s performance is great, 4K video playback is excellent, it has Dolby and DTS digital surround sound audio output, you can convert SATA storage to shared internal storage, and it has good 3D gaming. I listed the drawbacks at the end of this article.

A95X Max II pros and cons

Final thoughts

The A95X MAX II and is a great TV box in so many ways and yet there things about that could have been better. I like that they have upgraded to the Amlogic S905X3 CPU, and that they have included the SATA expandable storage features that you don’t usually get on a TV box. It streams movies and TV shows quite well, and it has excellent 4K video playback. It has excellent Wi-Fi reception on both Wi-Fi bands and it has a gigabit LAN port.
What could have been done better, is that the could of used in a better cooling by including an internal cooling fan which would have allowed them to clock the CPU 1.9 GHz resulting in much better if you performance. They also need to release some former updates to fix all the bugs in the system.
