Zoomtak King S22 TV Box Review

The Zoomtak King S22 TV box is another monster release for 2020, running on the Amlogic S922X CPU. What caught my immediate attention was the fact that the developer of this box is Zoomtak, or we have not seen in the mainstream retail stores for some time. I know that they have their own factory and may have released or taken orders from another developer just not branded with the Zoomtak logo. However Zoomtak is one of the earliest developers of TV boxes since the days of XBMC, so they have a long history and experience in the TV box market. More and that they chose to release a hired model on the Amlogic S922X CPU which means they were aiming for high end users with this model. Well after reviewing their latest model expectations were satisfied and disappointed at the same time, mainly because the box has great performance and meets all the basic requirements of a top-tier model, but failed to deliver on one unique and possible deal breaking feature and that is the exclusion of the components for the expandable storage bay. I will have more to say about this in my closing comments.

Final Thoughts

The Zoomtak King S22 TV box, is indeed a high performance gaming TV box and could handle just about any app or game you throw at it. My only issue is that, if they knew they were not going to provide the SATA expansion feature they should have just left the bottom of the box blank with ventilation holes. By including the removable cover leaves the user with the expectation that when he opens it there will be a SATA cable for him to connect an external hard drive, only to discover that there is none.

So my advice to anyone reading this blog or watching my video review please be aware that though I highly recommend this as a high-end TV box, it does not have SATA expansion capability.
