OMIKAI K1 Allwinner H616 Wireless Charging TV Box Review
The OMIKAI K1 TV Box at first glance provides lots of hope when it comes to Allwinner chipsets. We have seen other models face lots of issues in performance and heat management. With its well ventilated design and internal cooling fan, raises some eyebrows and peaks the interests of reviewers and enthusiasts alike. The immediate question will be whether the improvements in design and heat management will result in lower heat and higher performance. Well during this review I was sort of hoping that this would be the case and would finally be able to review and Allwinner TV box that is worthwhile. While there were some improvements mainly in the area of heat management, there wasn’t much improvements in performance. So the OMIKAI K1 has the right concept of all one should develop a TV box on the Allwinner H616 but it is still more of the same in terms of performance.

Final Thoughts
It appears that no matter how they try Allwinner H616 chipset just can’t deliver a well balance TV box. No one manufacturer can set their CPU clock speed above 1.5 GHz without running in the overheating issues and poor performance. So even in their attempt in the OMIKAI K1 to include a cooling fan it still had borderline heating issues. Not to mention it had challenges in playing 4K videos, no HDR display, and no digital surround sound audio output. These issues are surely a deal breaker for this box.
