Almost The Best – Mecool KM1 Collective Android TV OS Google Certified 4K TV BOX Review

Mecool KM1 Collective TV Box Review

Today I came across a TV box that almost became the best mid-range TV box for 2020 called the Mecool KM1 collective Android TV OS TV Box. What makes this TV box so exciting is that it’s a fully certified Google TV box and features Chromecast Google assistant and can play premium streaming services in HD and 4K quality. It CPU is clocked pretty high at 1.9 GHz, it has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The box has a good design with adequate ventilation that prevents overheating. It has all the right ingredients that would have made it the best middle range TV box for 2020, but I discovered of one thing it fell short in from achieving this title and that is problem that has been plaguing me cool for some time and that is the ability to implement Netflix certification in their boxes resulting in the lack of Netflix in HD and 4K quality. Other than that, this box is a really good TV box and can play all the other premium streaming services in HD and 4K quality. My experience with this box was good minimal issues and really wish the good have implemented that critical Netflix feature. Have a look at my findings below.

Mecool KM1 Pros And Cons

Conclusion

Mecool KM1 set out on a mission to create an android TV box for 2020 that was fully certified to run premium streaming services in HD and 4K quality but fell short of Netflix. This begs the question of why go to so much trouble and cannot achieve your primary goal because Netflix is by far the most popular premium streaming service around. So buyers who may be looking for is certified android TV box to play Netflix would be quite disappointed that such a great TV box cannot. So there is a bit of confusion in my mind whether this is a good recommendation to someone looking for a certified TV box. Maybe it may be of value to other persons who use other premium streaming services such as Amazon prime video, Hulu, HBO go, Sling TV, and many others. I can’t make that determination for you, you would have to determine that for yourself. As for its other features such as 4K video playback, casting, Kodi and streaming APKs, and 3D gaming. The box passed with high scores. So like I said this was almost the best mid range TV box for 2020.

1-streaming online videos(cyberflix etc) Kodi YouTube
2- Not into Netflix Prime etc

      For you I recommend the A95X F3 RGB 4GB 64GB Model.
Don’t mind the RGB lights it performance is excellent.
You didn’t tell me what region you are from, so I assume Amazon is the best place for you to purchase.
This bundle is right for a newbie. https://amzn.to/3dTDq6Y

  2. Hello, first of all, thank you for your review of the Mecool KM1. I’d like you to give me your opinion. There is a big difference in the image quality it can bring you when playing 4K HDR movies from a hard drive, between the meccol km1 or the beelink gt king pro or the nvidea shield tv pro, there is a lot of difference to decide on the Beeling or nvidea, or it is worth paying because I will have a better image quality. I am a more exclusive user to play 4K HDR movies on the hard drive, since I have Netflix and YouTube on my Samsung SmartV, which you advise me to buy, your opinion will help me a lot, I hope it can help me, thanks and regards.

    • Hi Alexander yes there is a difference between the Nvidia Shield and the Beelink and the Mecool KM1.
First of all the Nvidia Shield is plays 4K HDR the best because it can handle the highest bitrate without freezing.
Besides HDR you have to look at digital audio formats. Out of the 3 the Nvidia Shield is the only one that can play Dolby TrueHD format.
All 3 can play Dolby Atmos and DTS-X audio formats, but only the Nvidia Shield can play Dolby TrueHD.
Also you must use the VLC player as this the only media player for Android at this time that can play digital audio formats once you set the audio settings to audio passthrough.
So Nvidia is the best at playing those 4K HDR videos, then Beelink GT King Pro, then the Mecool KM1.
