Windows Operating System and apps

The Kodlix U500 runs on a licensed Windows 10 professional 64-bit operating system. There is no restrictions to the Windows operating system you can install any program you like and it will work unless the program requires more powerful hardware like video editing programs. In this review I installed a full version of Office applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and they all worked well without issues, making this PC great for doing a power point presentation. I also install my favorite Antivirus software and protected this PC from viruses, spam, and malware.

Entertainment Features

What I enjoyed the most on this mini PC is the entertainment features. I watched Netflix in HD quality, YouTube in 8K quality, Cast my phone to it, and the gaming was really impressive for games 5GB and under, which it most small games but really exciting games from the Windows store.

Windows Game Snapshots

I played GT Racing 2, Asphalt 9, and Modern Combat 5 and the pictures are not doing the graphics detail much justice. Take my word for it the graphics details are really good.

Final Thoughts

For the price there are lots of things you can do on the Kodlix U500. The hardware is excellent and from Intel, the benchmark scores are really high in comparison to Android Amlogic and Rockchip boxes. On the Windows 10 OS you have Netflix in HD and 4K, YouTube up to 8K quality, and really good gaming. The storage options are really impressive on this mini PC, you can upgrade to a 512GB SSD M2 card, or a 2TB SSD hard drive. You the best IO ports in the industry, including dual HDMI display. The PC comes with a built-in laptop CPU cooling fan. For the Android X86 fans you can install the latest Android X86 r1 onto the M2 and the SATA expansion port.

The only issue I had was that some of my 4K video samples had some difficulty playing.

    • Hi Nagaraj. This mini PC though powerful for its class and fully functional as desktop PC, it cannot match the power of a full size desktop PC or a gaming PC.
