Introducing the Nylavee Sound Bar: my hands on review
Today we’re diving into the audio world with the Nylavee Sound Bar and subwoofer: model SK070. The best part? You won’t need to break the bank for impressive sound quality and deep bass.
Unboxing and Contents
A big shoutout to Nylavee for sending over their SK070 model for this review. In the unboxing, you’ll find the mini sound bar, the subwoofer, an infrared remote control, a 24V 1.2 A DC power supply, an auxiliary cable, a support card, and a user manual.
Sound Bar Features
Let’s take a closer look at the features of the sound bar. Measuring 16.1 inches long, 2 ¾ inches thick, and 2.7 inches tall, it boasts a glossy finish. Behind the plastic mesh, two 35W range speakers deliver midrange and treble. The backside hosts various ports, including HDMI ARC, USB, 3.5mm auxiliary, coaxial, DC power, and an output port for the subwoofer. Manual press buttons are conveniently placed on the side, and antiskid rubber feet prevent slips.
Subwoofer Specifications
The subwoofer, standing at 14 inches tall, 7 ¼ inches long, and 4 inches thick, features a 65W subwoofer speaker with a fabric mesh. The amplifier for the subwoofer is intelligently built into the sound bar. Connecting is simplified with a single cable to link to the subwoofer.
Remote Control and Connectivity
The remote control is user-friendly, offering input source selection, volume controls, track selection, and even treble and bass level adjustments. The sound bar supports various connection modes, including Bluetooth, USB, HDMI ARC, and an auxiliary port.
Bluetooth Connectivity
Connecting via Bluetooth is a breeze. Power on the sound bar, enter Bluetooth pairing mode, and adjust settings accordingly. The LED indicator and voice notification guide you through the process seamlessly. This feature makes it compatible with mobile cell phones and Android boxes.
AUX connection port
With its 3.5 mm auxiliary port you can connect all sorts of audio devices once it has a 3.5 mm headphone jack. It can even played a role of a dedicated subwoofer connected to a receiver subwoofer output port.
USB Playback
For those preferring external storage, the USB mode allows you to play music tracks. However, keep in mind that the USB port reads only Fat32 file format, which may limit your options.
HDMI ARC and Connectivity Challenges
The HDMI ARC input source offers versatility but comes with some instructions. The manual notes limitations with Dolby Atmos and DTS audio, suggesting setting the TV’s audio output to PCM format. I however troubleshooted ultimately resolving the issue by enabling HDMI CEC.
Audio Testing
I also conducted thorough audio test, showcasing Dolby Atmos, DTS HD Master Audio, DTS X, and Dolby Surround from Dolby Vision videos. While some formats may not be supported by certain TVs, the HDMI ARC feature proves adaptable for various configurations.
Conclusion and Final Thoughts
In conclusion, the Nylavee sound bar and subwoofer deliver an impressive audio experience, especially considering its budget-friendly price. The HDMI ARC connectivity may vary depending on your TV, so be prepared to troubleshoot if necessary.
