iPazzPort X9 2024 Review
Today, we’re diving into the world of wireless air mouse remote controls to find the best option for 2024. And guess what? The latest iPazzPort X9 2024 model is has everything you need to control your Android boxes and more, so let’s see what it offers.
Unboxing and Design
First things first, let’s take a look at what’s included. The iPazzPort X9 comes with a USB A to USB Type-C charging cable, a wireless dongle (for devices without Bluetooth), and a user manual.
The remote itself is a perfect size, measuring 6 ½ inches and fitting comfortably in your hands. It has a premium feel with a little weight due to the built-in rechargeable battery.
The Front of the Remote
The front of the remote is nice and simple. Here’s a quick rundown of the buttons:
- Power button
- Air mouse toggle button
- Microphone
- LED indicator
- Direction pad and OK button
- Home and back buttons
- Menu button
- Volume up/down button (press and hold for up/down gesture)
- Voice command button
- Page up/down button (press and hold for up/down gesture)
- Dedicated YouTube, Netflix, Google Play, and Apps buttons
The Back and Sides
Flip the remote over to find a full QWERTY keyboard. On the top, there’s an IR sensor, and on the base, you’ll find a USB Type-C charging port for the rechargeable battery.
Connecting the iPazzPort X9
There are two ways to connect the X9 to your device: Bluetooth and IR learning.
- Bluetooth Pairing: Put your device in Bluetooth pairing mode. On the X9, press the OK button with the Home and Back buttons together until the LED indicator flashes green. Select the X9 on your device to pair.
- IR Learning: The X9 can learn IR signals from your TV’s remote for specific buttons. We’ll cover the programming process later.
Using the Remote
The iPazzPort X9 is packed with features, so let’s break them down:
- Air Mouse: Toggle the air mouse feature on or off with a single press of the button. Use the direction pad or Gyro motion for navigation.
- Volume and Page Controls: Press and hold the volume or page up/down buttons and use Gyro gestures to adjust.
- Mini Keyboard: Flip the remote over and use the QWERTY keyboard with the blue FN function key for numbers and symbols.
- Voice Search: Press the microphone button and speak your search into the remote.
Beyond Android Devices
While the X9 shines with Android devices, it also works surprisingly well with Windows notebooks. Here’s what you can expect:
- The Gyro air mouse works flawlessly.
- The OK button acts as a left mouse click, and the Menu button acts as a right mouse click.
- Hold the OK button while clicking to drag and drop.
- The QWERTY keyboard functions perfectly.
- Adjust cursor speed by holding the OK button and tapping volume to cycle through speeds.
Using the iPazzPort X9 with Your TV
How well the X9 works with your TV depends on the operating system. If your TV runs on Android TV OS with Bluetooth, it will work just like it does with Android boxes.
For other TV operating systems, you’ll need to use IR learning to program the power button and other desired functions from your TV’s remote.
Programming IR Learning
Here’s how to program the IR learning function:
- Press and hold the button you want to program (power, YouTube, Netflix, etc.) on the X9 until it flashes red quickly and then slowly.
- Point your TV’s remote head-to-head with the X9 and press the corresponding button once. The X9’s LED will flash and go out, indicating successful learning.
- Press the programmed button on the X9 to save the function.
- Repeat for other buttons.
- To clear all learned functions, press OK and Power together for five seconds until it flashes red.
The Verdict: A Feature-Packed Remote with a Minor Wish
Overall, the iPazzPort X9 is a fantastic high-quality rechargeable wireless air mouse/mini keyboard remote control. My only wish is that it had backlit keys.
