New T95 Plus RockChip RK3566 Android 11 4K TV Box Review

T95 Plus RockChip RK3566 Android 11 4K TV Box Review

So here we are once again with a new TV Box from Rockchip called the T95 Plus and it runs on the new Rockchip RK 3566 and the Mali G52 GPU on Android 11 operating system. When I first saw this box and plugged in the power I was really excited to see if this box would showcase the real potential of the new Rockchip hardware. However, my enthusiasm was short-lived the as soon as I discovered that though it wasn’t that the same as the H96 Max model, it has its own fair share of challenges.

Believe me when I say I really believe this is good performance hardware, and am really rooting for. But it appears that the challenges continue with Android 11 and getting all the features up and working that would deliver the kind of the user experience we are expecting. In this review I really try my best highlight the greatness of the hardware, but too much of the firmware issues are clouding its potential.

Final Thoughts

It appears that Rockchip TV Box manufacturers do not possess the right formula all personnel to deliver the right firmware for the hardware. The hardware is definitely not the issue here, with 64 bit architecture and the Mali G52 GPU, that combination is enough to rival any S905X3 or S905X4 model. I am still hopeful that someone will get it right before it tarnishes the potential of this new Rockchip hardware and provide the competition that Amlogic manufacturers deserve.
