T95 Allwinner H616 Android 10 TV Box Review

T95 Allwinner H616 Review

So this is the budget T95 Allwinner H616 Android 10 TV box, while the title may seem quite exciting, Allwinner is yet to deliver a high-performance TV box. It appears that they are stuck at the 1.4GHz CPU clock speed unable to solve their overheating issues. In this model due to adequate ventilation and a regulated CPU clock speed I didn’t record any overheating in this model, they however did improve on the hardware specs. This model comes with a new Allwinner H616 CPU and the Mali G31 GPU, which is a step in the right direction. However, as an enthusiasts there is not much I can say about this box other than it is good for streaming movies and TV shows. it’s running on Android 10 Q, but its firmware leaves much to be desired in terms of features.ย

  1. ย I saw in your YT channel that you got also the Tanix TX6S. I bricked my tanix TX6S, i wanted to activate the NavBar editing the build.prop. But not worked and now i got bootloop and cannot boot to system any more. I would ask you, if you could make a Backup file with your Stock recovery. So perhaps I can restore with this file my Box, there is no Firmware Image on Tanix HP. Would be nice from you, thanks a lot.

Thomas from Portugal. I follow your YT channel already a long time. I like so much your reviews, thanks for All.

  2. Hi! Thanks for the review.
In the video you said that Netflix is not working and we need to update from Aptoide store….is then Netflix working? Not for me.

  3. I’m going to post this because the Taiwan Chinese TV Box brand EVPAD uses the H616 in it’s latest (2021) models in 2023. They have another similar model called Ubox 10 (for 2023) which has the H618 chip. It locks/freezes when attempting to play 4k (2160p) media from YouTube. Neither of these boxes play Netflix 4K content.

I must emphasize that playback of 4K video is rare and none of these boxes are certified to play 4K. At best, you can play 1080p. The major red flag is these TV box companies (and chip makers) advertise 6K when 6K doesn’t exist in the real world. We have 4K TV including 4K content eg. 2160p.

We have very expensive 8k TVs with very limited 8K content. We don’t have any 6K. How it works is it goes 1K, 2K, 4K, 8K, etc. The next generation of TVs and streaming will be 16K. Advertising 6K is a gimmick and you’d be hard pressed to actually play 4K content.

    • Ignore what AIDA64 says about resolution because on all my 4K boxes AIDA64 usually shows 1080p as though its reading the cropped frame of the launcher itself and not the display output. The YouTube app usually does this under stats for nerds you see it says 4K 2160p resolution but it’s viewport is 1080p.
So the same thing with AIDA64
