H96 Max X3 TV Box Review

When I was asked to review the H96 Max X3 TV Box  honestly I really didn’t believe it was going to be worth it, after the disappointing performance of the H96 line in 2019. However because of my commitment to as much TV box as possible and because I am an H96 fan, I felt compelled to do it. So H96 finally jumped on the Amlogic S905X3 chip-set and they did their best to give us killer mid-range TV box. In this review I got nothing but good news with a few cons as usual, see my findings below.

Conclusion

I must say the H96 Max X3 is fine mid-range TV box. I know I have been harsh on H96 in their Allwinner models, that is because I hold them to a higher standard after they have been known for producing great boxes in the past. So this X3 model is like redemption for them and I am happy to recommend this box as a great TV box to buy.

  1. hello, how do you manage to detect Dolby with this box?
    i activate all output audio format on the box but when i read DD, DD+, ATMOS or DTS with this box my ampli ( pioneer VSX-933 7.2 atmos) always say ” input 2CH PCM” and play stereo with nativ mode… Thanks

  3. Is there already a solution to address the issue of HBO NOW without audio? I have H96 Max X3 128GB, 8k Ultra HD Version 9. Android Patch level 8/5/2018, Kernel Ver 4.9.113, Build PPRI.180610.011.

  7. Hey guys, I just purchased a H96 Max X3 Amlogic S905X3 and it’s been working great until I bricked it (could’ve kicked myself from here to kingdom-come for not doing a TWRP backup).
    It came as this, so now if anyone can drop this image somewhere, I’d appreciate it.
