Vankyo X95 Plus Amlogic S905Y2 TV Box Review
I like it when a TV box is unrated and then turns out to be a great TV box, and this is the case with the Vankyo X95 Plus. It so happens that this box turns out to be one of the best budget TV boxes for 2019 priced at just below $50 the X95 Plus in my review performs the same as recent S905X2 boxes priced at $60 and over. The box was meant to a basic streaming TV box but I got it to do so much more. I played 4k videos at 6ohz, play high graphics Android games, cast media from my cellphone, and it produced some really good benchmarks. So if you are on a tight budget you can’t go wrong with this little box.

Great UI and Features
When I tell that the Vankyo X95 Plus puts some so-called high-end boxes to shame, their launcher is complete with every feature you need as a TV box user and or enthusiasts.
Features Include:
- Navigation Bar
- Notifications/status bar
- Shortcuts Bar
- Root Switch
- 4K 2160p 60hz
- Dolby vision

Entertainment features
The Vankyo X95 Plus provides all the main entertainment options. You can watch Netflix in standard 420p quality, but you have to sideload APK from Aptoide or other sources. Amazon Prime video works directly from the Google play store. You can watch 4K videos at 60fps 10bit HDR Dolby and DTS audio formats. You have HDMI audio passthrough via Kodi. You can install Kodi from the Google play store and install your own third-party addons. You can install any popular streaming services via APK download or from the Aptoide app store. You can cast media from your cellphone or tablet via the airscreen app for Android and IOS devices. You can use your favorite alternative launcher, though I recommend the ADW launcher 2. You can play any android game you like in high-quality graphics settings, and you can use any gamepad along with any keymapping app of your choice.
Benchmarks
- Antutu – 57260

- Sling Shot – 496
- RAM copy – 3295 MB/s

Conclusion
Well like I said in the beginning, for what this box offers in terms of features I think this is a steal of a deal. Yes it does not have a LAN port, SD card slot, or optical audio output port, but hey! the performance this box delivers some boxes in the higher price bracket don’t even deliver well enough. The box is very thin, the user interface is feature rich, and the price is below $50.
