Minisforum U500-H Mini PC – Intel Core i3 High Performance 10% Off Offer

Minisforum U500-H Mini PC Review

Minisforum has once again released a mini PC on the market, this one is called the Minisforum U500-H and this one is on the high-end side both in hardware and price. I am always excited to receive these mini PCs for my dual boot project, as I believe we are getting closer to the day when Android X86 becomes fully compatible with Windows hardware and we can enjoy powerful Android apps and games on the big screen in style. After testing it I was very pleased in most areas, while there were some areas where I wanted some more. See the results of my various tests below.

Android X86 Experience

For the fans of the Android X86 operating system, benchmark scores a very high on the latest Bliss Rom 64bit. On this particular mini PC, I could not get audio via the HDMI port and had to use the Lesser Audio Switch app to get audio through the headphone jack because it was not coming through by default. 4K video playback is not optimized, and you can only get YouTube in 4K on the YouTube Smart TV app, the rest shows up to 1080p. Gaming is the best quality but I could get the gamepad keymapping apps to work despite having root access. Installing it was a breeze on a separate SSD hard drive in the storage expansion bay and the BIOS options are simple and easy to operate.

Conclusion

Out of all the Mini PCs I have reviewed this one is the most powerful, but it is not the most compatible with Android X86. That title goes to the GN34 model that had great 4K playback and audio through HDMI under the Android X86 OS.
