Mecool M8S Pro Amlogic S912 Octa Core Android 7.1 TV Box Review
At a first glance, the Mecool M8S Pro Amlogic S912 Octa Core Android 7.1 4K TV box looks very promising. Mecool in this latest product sort to strike the right balance between hardware performance and price. How well did they achieve this? Well lets take a look at my review.
So like I said this box looks promising. The Mecool M8S Pro runs on the Amlogic S912 64bit CPU, running up 1.5GHz and not 2.0GHz as advertised. This is not unique the the Mecool M8S Pro, ALL Amlogic S912 has this issue, they limited the CPU clock so as to prevent the box from overheating.
The GPU used in this is no surprise, it uses the ARM Mali T820 tri core GPU, running up to 750MHz. It comes with 3GB of DDR4 RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. And the maximum external hard drive capacity is 32GB. It has 802.11 AC Dual Band 2.4GHz + 5.8GHz WiFi, and Bluetooth 4.1.
On the software side, the Mecool M8S Pro runs on the latest Android 7.1 Nougat operating System. It comes with apps like Netflix, TV Center which is a Kodi build, Google Play store, Google chrome, App installer, Miracast, YouTube, and MX Player
