X96 X4 Amlogic S905X4 Android 11 AV1 Video TV Box – Super Fast

X96 X4 Amlogic S905X4 TV Box Review

So today we have the new X96 X4 Amlogic S905X4  Android 11 TV Box has been released on the market but it’s brand-new RGB lighting system that makes it so attractive. The manufacturers at Droidlogic made an assertive effort to push the performance boundaries of this box to deliver an outstanding performance. In fact with its CPU clocked at 2.0 GHz its interface is very quick and responsive and it’s also reflected in its performance benchmarks.

However Android 11 is again proving to be troublesome for developers to fully implement all the features we have grown to love on our boxes. We are also seeing a trend among recent X4 models where the Google play store is somewhat restricted and not allowing you to install certain apps. Another challenge is with the digital audio decoders where the standard VLC player that he used to deliver all the formats is no other difficulty to do so. Hence we are now seeing this new EXOplayer that is trying to perform those functions but not fully.

X96 X4 pros and Cons

Final thoughts

So I really like its speed and benchmark performance, 4K video playback, AV1 video playback, and the 3D gaming performance. As for its basic firmware features we remain frustrated about the fact that certain basic features such as navigation bar and status bar, along with root access is not been provided by some of these new models. We have seen Ugoos deliver these features so we know that it’s achievable. The question is why not in these are models. I really don’t mind having to apply a cooling fan below this box when 3D gaming because it has raw, exciting CPU power and makes the box interface move superfast, and so does its gaming performance.

  1. To add to the cons, Bluetooth does not work and seem not to be supported by this device with android 11 R.
I also was not able to establish any casting through miracast or AirScreen.
I am very disappointed and I am returning the product to amazon.

  2. Pleasant good day to you. I’m unable to launch an app called iMega V3.5.6 on this device, X96X4. The app can be downloaded and installed from the links received from the suppliers, but when you click to open the app nothing happens and it returns to the main screen or the browser it was downloaded from.
I have tried everything imaginable to get this app to work(IMega 3.5.6). This same app works when I download and install it on an older android box T95N. that runs Android 6.0 So if the app can work on an older android box using an older version of Android operating system, then why am I getting issues with this X96X4 that is so far advanced. If you can assist me to get this device X96X4 to work then I’ll be so thankful

    • I pull up the app and realized that it’s a camera app. Older boxes running older versions of Android will not have an issue. Newer boxes have to pass Google’s certification in order to facilitate camera features.
They have implemented this restriction based on new laws passed in different countries around the world to protect children from predators hack cameras and WebCams. Mobile phones by default, with cameras so the past security features before being sold to the public.
And Android box will not pass because it’s not an official mobile phone. Also if the box does indeed have a camera feature it will be so restricted that you wouldn’t be able to install anything other than an app directly from the play store. No sideloading of APKs.
It also has because certified with full HDCP protection.
