Magicsee N5 Max Amlogic S905X3 TV Box Review
If you are looking good solid TV Box in 2020 at a reasonable price that won’t let you down I strongly advise you take a look at the Magicsee N5 Max Amlogic S905X3 TV Box. I am trying to recall if I ever got a bad review of a Magicsee TV box, and none comes to my mind. The new 2020 N5 Max is another testament and adds to the reputation Magicsee carries. Magicsee starts off the year on the right foot with this latest release. The N5 Max has all the right features of a medium-grade TV box recently seen in high-end boxes such as Ugoos and Beelink. In this new model sporting the new Amlogic S905X3 CPU is clocked at 1.9GHz without overheating, and it has features such as Root switch, hardware monitor, and digital audio output.

Conclusion
My experience with this box was a good one. I am really pleased with the features is has, the speed of the CPU, the 4K video playback, and the streaming and gaming performance. I identified a few cons namely the low LAN speed, no screen rotation feature, the limited status bar, and the missing Dolby TrueHD audio output. The 2020 Magicsee N5 Max is a very good TV box for streaming and gaming and the pros far outweigh the cons.
Thanks for the nice review ! I have one question – which one you will choose between magicsee n5 max and A95X F3 ?
Thanks in advance !
Nice question, I will have to go with the N5 Max S905X3 only based on benchmarks comparison.
I had problems with the HDMI connection on the A95X F3. Almost every move I made with the remote control or wireless keyboard caused the HDMI signal to refresh and my Sony TV would show a black bar with the HDMI input parameters. Navigation of launcher, settings menus, apps, all the same – any move caused the HDMI to refresh. A different cable didn’t change this very annoying behaviour. A95X hardware or firmware issue, I don’t know. The TV behaves fine with my old Beelink box. Sending the A95X back and getting the N5 Max reviewed here.
Hi,
I’m puzzled about 4k videos shown into your video review: each one of them has some frames periodically jumped.
I played your review by different media (desktop PC, laptop, smartphone), but that problem always appears.
Further it doesn’t appear if I play any other review of your, treating with different media players, based on the same S905X3 chipset.
So I can’t understand why you have a positive opinion of this mediaplayer.
Best regards
Aldo
Hi I am getting the impression that you are expecting the frames to change while my YouTube video is playing.
That cannot by viewed from playing a YouTube video. What you have to understand is that the box itself plays each 4K sample from my list
that is indeed in various frames and file type format(ts,mkv,mpg4) (59.95fps, 60fps, ect). Once the box play it during the video that’s what you are looking for.
I’m just a few hrs away from buying the Magicsee N5,what’s it like streaming with Mobdro and Livenet TV?
Hi John. Streaming Mobdro and Livenet.tv work great Mobdro for sure but Livenet.tv some channels work others do not
HI great video. I have this box now. Could you please tell me how to get the status bar at the bottom back up as accidentally lowered it but can’t seem to find out how to get it back up as have nothing at botton of screen now. Also the sceen seems to go off the edges of my TV Is there a way to fit to screen. Thanks for any help.

What’s happening to you is parts of your display is off the screen. So open the apps section and select Droid Settings. Under display select screen position settings. Change the screen size percentage until you have all the display on the screen. To get back the navigation bar you need to connect an air-mouse or a simple USB PC mouse and click and hold with the mouse pointer at the bottom of the screen, and drag in an upwards motion and it will popup again. But if it is off the screen then you will not see it. So fix the screen size first.
just got a magicsee n5 max. do you connect your mouse and keyboard directly to the box when gaming or do you use a converter like for android phones
You plug the keyboard and mouse directly into the box and it will work. To play certain games that require touch screen features you need a Keyboard + mouse/gamepad app that maps buttons to touch functions. For that I recommend Panda mouse pro Beta, and the Panda Gamepad Pro Beta. I don’t have any videos on this yet. You have pay “once” to activate both apps, it’s a very small fee and Google saves you purchase so install the app anywhere with your account.

Thank you
I’m not able to get a physical keyboard to work with the N5. I’ve tried both usb ports. Mouse is fine. Are there any special settings or apps you need to install to get a normal usb keyboard to work?
Is it a wired Keyboard or wireless Keyboard?
Wired. It’s a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 I purchased last year.
Have you tried updating the firmware? Have you ever done it?
Maybe a Firmware update will fix the bug. www.magicsees.com/help.aspx
Another question. My bluetooth game pad keeps disconnecting. What game pad do you use and is it better to use a 2.4Ghz wireless adapter
I use the PXNX3 and it is better to use a dongle, the transmission is better.
Thank you
Just to follow up on my wired keyboard issue. My box came with the latest 20191231 firmware already installed. The problem seems to have been specific to that “Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000” I was trying … I just purchased a wireless “Microsoft PY9-00002 Wireless Desktop 850 with AES – Keyboard and Mouse” and it worked flawlessly. I’m guessing my wired keyboard was drawing too much power or had a slightly different key layout or something. Anyways very happy with the new keyboard mouse combo running off the same 2.4Ghz dongle.
OK so that was the issue. There were no drivers for the keyboard in Android. Glad you figured it out
