Beelink GT1-A Netflix Certified Android TV Box

So here’s a TV box that’s a bit of a throwback when it comes to its hardware but at the same time delivering something we don’t see often in Android TV boxes. The Beelink GT1-A is actually a TV box that is certified to play Netflix in HD an 4K quality. It also comes with a full version of Andriod TV OS with Google assistant’s voice search, Google Cast,  and the official version of YouTube for Andriod TV. You get Dolby display and digital audio output via HDMI and optical audio output.

Netflix in HD and 4k

So how is the Beelink GT1-A able to deliver Netflix in HD and 4k quality while other boxes don’t. You see companies like Beelink and Xiaomi care much about their customers that they went through the necessary channels to attain the required certification. First, they have to run the official version of Andriod TV OS, then get the required Google Widevine Level 1 and HDCP protection, and then finally install the Netflix ESN on the box, this can only be done on a box that has its Google Play services certified. After testing Netflix it actually plays in HD and 4K quality.

Conclusion

Ok, so I give Beelink the thumbs up of releasing an official Netflix TV box. I hope that they maintain the certification, unlike Mecool that lost it after Netflix did an update. I would have liked to see this done to a more recent box running on Amlogic S905X2 but I don’t know their reasons maybe it’s hardware related. other than that the box performs great, I was able to watch a Netflix movie in 1080p HD quality. I got some OK benchmarks, 4K videos played OK, but 3D gaming had some challenges.
