Tanix TX92 TV Box Review

Tanix TX 92 Review

In today’s review of the Tanix TX92 Amlogic S912 octa core Android 7.1 4K TV box, we got some positives and negatives. This is by far one of Tanix’s high-end TV boxes that places it self to rank among the top S912 TV boxes. But can it really score well with the big guns in its class? It this review we’ll find out.

Tanix TX92 Hardware thoughts

My thoughts on the hardware are that are that we have seen so many Amlogic S912 CPU TV boxes, and yet still we have not seen any TV box make any leaps and bounds. Tanix in this installation tried to do something a little different by including 64GB of internal storage, DDR4 RAM. It uses Bluetooth 4.1 and below are list of the hardware specs.

Well I thought that seeing that the box ran on DDR4 RAM and it had so much internal storage, I was expecting to see much higher scores. Well the internal read and write were really good but the other benchmark scores were similar to other  boxes in it class.

User experience

Pros

The Tanix TX92, is one of their best boxes to date. The box is rooted, comes with 3GB DDR4 RAM and 64GB of internal storage with a max extended capacity of up to 128GB. It runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat, streaming is really good, and gameplay is also really good.

Cons

I expected the benchmarks to be higher. Some of the 4K video samples had some difficulty playing, and the WiFi reception is not the best, you get better Internet speed via Ethernet connection. The stock remote works well, but the mini touch-pad keyboard had more features.

  1. Can wait forever and no update firmware till now. Issue no.1: Hdmi port on first boot sometimes has issue with fuzzy display on first boot then disappear. Kodi or TV media Centre has issue that log me out several times. Try search youtube on resolving issue. Tanix TX92 should disable auto updating of apps in playstore as a sudden change in account password on the pc when the mediabox is updating can cause app error that Playstore can’t fix.

  2. The downloads are working just fine, you receive them via email, enter your email address and first name, them confirm the registration in your inbox, then click receive firmware, then the download links will be emailed to you. Two forms .img and and OTA package installer.
