Magicsee Iron+ TV Box Review

In this Magicsee Iron+ Amlogic S912 4K TV Box Review I will be going through as much features as possible, and I’ll examine its hardware. Benchmarks results will also be displayed, along with my closing comments and recommendations.

Magicsee’s Iron+ Hardware

First to begin the Iron+ is made of plastic and not metal, and the Blue LED light that is supposed to illuminate the entire top of the box doesn’t work like it is shown in the introduction videos.

The Magicsee Iron+ runs on the Amlogic S912 octa core Cortex A53 CPU, running up to 1.5GHz. Its display is powered by the ARM Mali T820 tri core 3X GPU, running up to 750MHz. It comes with 3GB of DDR4 RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It has 802.11 Dual band WiFi support, and it comes with Bluetooth 4.1 technology. We have benchmark results for these hardware below. The hardware looks great and we’ll see just how well they score.

Iron+ Software environment

The Magicsee Iron+ has a new firmware already installed for new released purchase, and an OTA update for existing users. The latest firmware provides Root access, navigation bar, and full access to the Google play store.

With that said, the Magicsee Iron+ runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system. I like how they have that special code 8899 to unlock and reveal the Kodi application.  You have preinstalled apps like Netfilx Mobdro, Showbox, and Megabox HD for free streaming of movies and TV shows. With the new firmware, you will have to install the latest version of Kodi manually. You also have the ability to side load APK files via the APK installer application on the box.

Gaming on the Magicsee Iron+ was good after the firmware with many games becoming available. After playing Marvel Quest Of Champions set on the highest settings the game ran smoothly with no freezing up or rendering problems, and the 3D graphics was of a good quality.

Conclusion

Well Magicsee came through with their latest firmware, correcting all the issues with the Iron+ and I can now say that the Iron+ is complete and it’s a great box to buy. My only wish was that the box was actually made of metal, and that they figured out a way to light up the top of the box brighter.

    • If your box is bricked why do you want to open it. Simply download the stock firmware from the Magicsee website, use a PC with a USB OTG cable and the Amlogic USB flash tool and restore the box.
Opening the box serves no purpose unless you bricked it so bad that you need to short the eMMc pins for the PC to detect it. You have to find a seam to the very bottom edge and pop it open. Apply force with something like a thin but hard knife don’t cut yourself hold the knife very short
