So here comes the Ugoos AM6 Pro after the dramatic entrance of the AM6 1st model. I’m not lying when I say expectations are running high after the first model set a precedent like that in my first video. This new model comes with 4GB of RAM and 32G of internal storage. Running on 2GB  16GB, the first model beat every TV box on my chart taking the number one spot for 2019. So that’s why I said expectations are running high. However, there is something different about this new model that left me thinking and asking the question of why. So keep reading to find out what that is.

Ugoos AM6 Pro Hardware

  • CPU – Amlogic S922X 6X 2.2GHz
  • GPU – ARM Mali G52 770MHz
  • RAM – 4GB DDR4
  • ROM – 32GB eMMc
  • WiFi – 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2.4GHz + 5Ghz MMO
  • LAN – 1000Mbps
  • Bluetooth – 5.0

What’s The Difference?

There are two of them actually. The first well, of course, is the increase in RAM and internal storage to 4GB 32GB and that in itself is supposed to yield higher benchmarks and better overall performance. However, when it came to the configuration of the hardware, the AM6 Pro has a lower CPU clock speed than the first model at 1.8GHz as opposed to the 2.2GHz in AM6 which also affects the performance of the new model, but by how much? Well to answer that question you would have look at the figures of the benchmark scores.

4K Video playback and Gameplay

So with the decreased CPU speed did it affect the performance of the box in 4K video playback and in 3D gaming? No it did not, I noticed no drawbacks at-all during the 4K video segment and during 3D gaming. You also have gamepad keymapping capability.

Conclusion

So is it a good box? Most definitely. Even though it is clocked lower than the first model it placed number 2 on my ranking chart, still beating the GT King.  I was communicating with a Ugoos representative who said that a firmware update could change the CPU clock so I wait to see if anything makes of it.

  1. Great review, I got am6 that runs at 1.8 not 2.2 like your original review, i didnt know there were 2 cpus at differerent clock rates, i hope ugoos can supply an update to remedy this, as i bought the am6 in good faith that it would run at 2.2 clock speed, unlike 1.8, mine antutu score is 110k not 130k like it oughta be.

  2. Great review I’ve ordered one from your link, hopefully the firmware update will help. Can you recommend a bluetooth gamepad that will work with this box’s key mapping etc
    Cheers
